Founded in 1980, the Faculty of Psychology and Education Sciences of the University of Porto (FPCEUP) stands out as one of the excellent Portuguese institutions in training, research, and community engagement in the areas of Psychology and Education Sciences.
Since 2005, the FPCEUP has been located at the University of Porto’s Polo II (Asprela) campus, in a building designed by the renowned architect Fernando Távora. The faculty offers a wide range of academic programs, including bachelor’s, master’s, and doctoral degrees, as well as advanced, specialised, and continuing education.



The Centre for Psychology at the University of Porto (CPUP)

At the forefront of research, the Faculty of Psychology and Education Sciences of the University of Porto (FPCEUP) is home to the Centre for Psychology at the University of Porto (CPUP), an R&D unit created in 1980, and funded by the Foundation for Science and Technology (FCT).
Committed to scientific excellence, it is organised into five research groups, with more than seventy researchers and around one hundred and fifty-seven PhD students. CPUP’s mission is to produce fundamental and applied research in Psychology in line with the highest international standards of excellence to contribute to sustainable growth and an inclusive society through the production of knowledge and innovation. The centre aims to create transformative solutions that contribute to the development and well-being of individuals and communities.
